Electronic powder scales have been around for years. The expensive ones gave atleast accurate readings, though their software often had a hard time dealingwith the unique requirements of reloaders. The inexpensive scales offered by ourcompetitors have, to date, all been based on repackaged postage meters orkitchen scales. The PACT Digital Precision Powder Scale was designed from theground up with you, the reloader, in mind. Take a look at our platen design, itswill perfectly center the powder pan over the load cell to enhance accuracy. Oursoftware is tuned to the unique requirements of reloaders. From weighing lots ofobjects fast, like bullets or loaded rounds to trickling powder you'll findconsistent, quick accurate results. Like the most expensive scales, our scalecomes with two ultra precision check weights for proper calibration incompliance with weigh scale industry standards. The Digital Precision PowderScale is accurate to a tenth of a grain all the way to 1500 grains.
"...I picked up one of your Digital Powder Scales last May, I love it. So muchso that I sold both of my partners on it and they have since each bought theirown. However a warning you should pass along to other would be customers. DON'Tlend it to a hunting partner who is hanging on to the thought that balance beamscales are just as good. Don just wouldn't accept the fact that your DigitalPowder Scale was as wonderful as I made it out to be. So I took it over to himthis past winter to try it out, big mistake. It got pretty scary for a while butI got it back and now he has his own." G.F. Hercules, California
Infrared Data Port
The PACT Digital Precision Powder Scale comes with an optional Infrared DataPort. This allows the scale to transmit weight data via a beam of invisibleinfrared light to the revolutionary PACT Digital Precision Powder Dispenser.
"...Thank you for your service, friendliness and a great product. This hasreally made my shooting with muzzle loader rifle and bow much more fun. I've gotpeople from all around coming by to use it. Thanks." G.L.T., Winchester, TN
"Believe me, I don't hesitate to endorse your products to all my shootingfriends. When another shooter brings up one of those 'high priced clockers', Ijust grin and take the guy by an elbow. "Let me tell you about a reasonablypriced miracle I discovered that goes by the name of PACT!" I tell him, and showhim my little magic box. Thanks, and keep up the good work." C.B., Denver CO
"This by way of being a 'love letter'! Not in the usual sense, however. Not toolong ago, I had to return my chronograph because it just wasn't acting right. After a reasonable amount of time, I received it, with note saying we've got youback up to speed. No bill, just thanks for buying a PACT." E.L., Wylie, Tx.
Which Scale Is For Me?
Both the BBK and the Digital Precision Powder Scale (DPPS) will provide you withaccurate weight information. If you were to put the two scales side by side andswitch back and forth between them during a reloading session you would noticesome differences. The load cell in the DPPS is of a higher quality (moreexpensive) than the one we use in the BBK as are the electronics that read it.This is why the DPPS can maintain +- a tenth of a grain over 1500 grainscompared to the BBKs 300 grain span. You might ask yourself what difference thismakes when you're only weighing 60 grains? What you'd find running the twoscales side by side is the BBK will require re-calibration a little more oftenthen the DPPS. In addition, the BBK more sensitive to changes in temperature. The BBK is battery powered and will get about 8 to 10 hours if use from aDuracell Alkaline battery. The DPPS is AC powered and cannot run on a battery. We have also found over the years that the DPPS is more susceptible to damagefrom being dropped then is the BBK.
The bottom line is that while both scales will work great for reloading, theDPPS is a better scale than the BBK, in fact the PACT Digital Precision PowderScale is the finest reloading scale on the market bar none. The BBK was designedto meet the requirements of a reloader at the lowest possible cost. One thing tokeep in mind is that only the DPPS can drive the Powder Dispenser, the BBKcannot and never will. If you think you may want to get the dispenser one day,by all means get the DPPS. You wont regret it.
