What's Wrong With a Balance Beam?
Do you look forward to using your balance beam scale? You know that you'll haveto hassle with getting it zeroed. Then you'll put your charge on it and start,ever so carefully, sliding the weights back and forth trying to get the thing tosettle into the middle. Then, just when you think you've got the thing pinneddown, you bump the base and loose your zero. You have to start all over again.Even when you manage to keep it zeroed, getting an accurate reading is a slowtedious process at best. Ugh!

Which Scale Is For Me?
Both the BBK 2 and the Digital Precision Powder Scale (DPPS) will provide youwith accurate weight information. If you were to put the two scales side by sideand switch back and forth between them during a reloading session you wouldnotice some differences. The load cell in the DPPS is of a higher quality (moreexpensive) than the one we use in the BBK as are the electronics that read it.This is why the DPPS can maintain +- a tenth of a grain over 1500 grainscompared to the BBKs 300 grain span. You might ask yourself what difference thismakes when you're only weighing 60 grains? What you'd find running the twoscales side by side is the BBK will require re-calibration a little more oftenthen the DPPS. In addition, the BBK more sensitive to changes in temperature.The BBK is battery powered and will get about 8 to 10 hours if use from aDuracell Alkaline battery. The DPPS is AC powered and cannot run on a battery.We have also found over the years that the DPPS is more susceptible to damagefrom being dropped then is the BBK.
